Conserere is a self-managed and self-financed collective composed of musicians who put improvisation at the centre of their artistic research.
Born in 2016 in response to a shared need to have spaces and places in which to discuss the subject, Conserere wants to create a network of support, education and dissemination on the subject of improvised music.
The attention of the collective is directed in particular to a type of improvisation based on the idea of listening and dialogue. There are no genres, sounds or instruments that are not are not welcome, as long as they are integrated into the soundscape with intelligence and a critical sense.
The idea that drives Conserere is that there can be a community that protects the growth of individuals, who in turn, through their own growth help the community in which they live become more alive and healthy. It is only through the development of an acute capacity for observation, listening and analysis that it is possible to make conscious and decisive choices in determining the quality of the world we live in. Through the practice of improvisation one exercises the body to react creatively and immediately to unexpected and extemporaneous situations.
In this sense, the focus is on improvisation both as a practice of innovation and adaptation, meaning in the first case a research driven by the desire for discovery, in the second by the need for adaptation.
Conserere articulates its activity in three ways:
– open workshops
– workshops
– ensembles
